Academic Curriculum
The B.Sc. (Honours) credit courses in Physics will be spread over four years and carry a total of 160 credits. There will be 92 credits in Physics theory courses and 31 credits in Physics Practical including Project work of 4 credits. There will be a general viva-voce of 8 credits. There will be 29 credits in Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Statistics and English. All theory 3 and 2 credits courses will carry 100 marks including 10 marks class attendance and 20 marks class test. Total number of lectures on a 3 credits course is 42 and that for a 2 credits course 28. Duration of each class will be 50 minutes. Examination duration for all the theoretical courses of 3 and 2 credits will be 3 hours. A Practical course of 4 credits will involve 8 classes per week, 2 credits will involve 4 classes per week and 1.5 credits will involve 3 classes per week. Total marks of each practical course will be 100, which include class attendance of 10 marks, one quiz test of 20 marks and continuous assessment with viva voce of 70 marks.
